Outdoor Activities & Rental Services

    • Paradise Cove, also known as Guffey Gorge features a waterfall as your reward for hiking up a 1 mile heavily trafficked trail. Trail is available for use from May to September, dogs are allowed on a leash. Mid-May to mid-September the day-fee is $6 per vehicle. Cliff jumping is allowed at Paradise Cove. Cliff jumping is very dangerous – proceed at your own risk.

 

    • Start the Gold Belt Byway, a Colorado Scenic and Historic Byway and a National Scenic Byway in Guffey, Colorado. Drive the Gold Belt Tour and retrace the historic travel routes connecting Cripple Creek and Victor Mining District, site of the world’s largest gold rush, to the communities of Florence, Cañon City and Florissant.

 

    • If you want to explore nearby camping, fishing, horseback and water activities you’ll find great options at Antero Reservoir and Eleven Mile State Park, located about 20 minutes away just up the road!

Trails for Hiking, Biking and Snowshoeing

    • Black Mountain Trail is a 6.1 mile trail located in Guffey that offers the opportunity to see wildflowers and is considered difficult. 

 

    • Want to stretch your legs and bike in some once in a lifetime scenery? Join those riding across the country on the Trans-America Bicycle Trail! You are bound to see some unforgettable views along the way!

    • The Guffey Garage is no longer a working auto garage, it has become more of a museum full of oddities, but they can help you with propane, ice, and custom welding jobs. They also carry an assortment of new and used plumbing and electrical supplies. Cabins are available for rent so if you are looking to stay overnight be sure to give them a call for options!

Yearly Events

    • The pioneer spirit is alive and well at Guffey Heritage Day & Chicken Rodeo which produces a world class educational family festival on the 4th of July weekend every year. The event promotes and benefits the town of Guffey, Park County and their citizens. Stay tuned to see if it will be happening this July!
