The Limber Grove Trail runs between Horseshoe and Fourmile Campgrounds near Fairplay and can be accessed from either campground. It is a 1.5 mile moderate hike that passes through a small grove of ancient Limber and Bristlecone pine trees. Directions
Take Highway 285 south from Fairplay for 1.3 miles to County Road 18 and proceed 7 miles to Horseshoe Campground and park on a wide part of the road before entering the campground. Walk to the back of the campground where the trailhead is located. Alternately, you can continue down County Road 18 for an additional 2.5 miles to a parking area on the south side of the road, 200 feet past Fourmile Campground.
