Hilltop Mine Trail is a 2.5-mile out-and-back hike near Fairplay, Colorado, offering a moderately challenging adventure with historical significance. The trail ascends above the treeline, leading to the Hilltop Mine, a historic mining facility still in relatively good condition. Along the way, hikers will pass the Dauntless Mine and remnants of an aerial tram system that once transported ore to the town of Leavick.
