The 1,370-acre Charlie Meyers State Wildlife Area, more commonly known as the “Dream Stream,” is located between Spinney Mountain and Eleven Mile State Parks along the South Platte River. Fishing, hunting, and wildlife viewing are allowed in accordance with state regulations and a port-a-let is available on-site. To reach the State Wildlife Area, drive 10.3 miles east from Hartsel on Highway 24 to County Road 23 (mile marker 250) and turn right. Drive 2.7 miles to County Road 59 and turn left, then continue 2.3 miles to County Road 92 and turn right (south), staying on County Road 59 for one mile until you reach the entrance.
