The Rich Creek Trailhead provides access to the the Buffalo Peaks Wilderness Area via the Ridgeview and Rich Creek Trails. Hiking, backpacking, horse riding, and dispersed camping are allowed along the trail in accordance with Wilderness Area restrictions. The Rich Creek Trail and a portion of the Rough & Tumbling Creek Trail create a 13-mile loop that is a favorite of many hikers and backpackers. Several of the streams near Buffalo Peaks offer fishing and cross-county travel off the trails is not difficult, even to the tops of the peaks.
From Highway 285, drive west on county Road 22 (Weston Pass road) for approximately eight miles. The trailhead if just off the road on your left, before you come to Weston Pass Campground.
